Overnight Closures of M50 – 24th February – 5th March

This information has been provided to the Parish Council by National Highways and has been pasted from their email.

We’re writing to inform you of some upcoming safety improvement work on the M50.

We’ll be removing hazardous trees on the M50 between junction 2 and junction 4. Once our work is complete, we’ll replace trees that have been removed, where possible.

We’ll work overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 24 February to Wednesday 5 March 2025, weeknights only. To carry out our work safely, we’ll close the M50 westbound between junction 2 and junction 4.

We’ll also need to carry out further hazardous tree removals on the eastbound carriageway between junction 4 and junction 2. We anticipate that this work will start in March following the completion of our work on the westbound carriageway. We’ll share further information via our mailing list when our programme is confirmed.

For more information about our approach to hazardous tree work, please use the link to our website: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-roads/west-midlands/ash-dieback-in-the-midlands/.

During closures, we’ll install a fully signed diversion route via the A417 and the A40.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout our work.

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.

We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
