I am writing to make you aware of the sustained increase in demand on our water network during the current period of hot weather and the potential impact this can have on supplies. We have seen high demand for water over recent days, and forecasts indicate that demand is likely to remain elevated across Herefordshire into next week as the warm weather continues.
Demand on an average day across our operating area is around 850 megalitres of water. Over the last four days we have exceeded 950 megalitres, peaking yesterday at over 1,000 megalitres.
During times of high demand some customers may experience low pressure or intermittent supplies. We advise any customer who loses their supply to contact us by calling 0800 052 0130. We will look to deliver water bottles to customers experiencing supply issues.

Our teams are working 24 hours a day to maintain pressure across the network and ensure supplies stay flowing safely to homes, hospitals and businesses.
Our extensive fleet of water tankers are moving water around the network to keep underground drinking water tanks topped up in areas of high demand.
We encourage everyone to drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if they don’t feel thirsty, and to take extra care of those most at risk in hot weather. However, we also ask customers to use the water they need, but to be mindful not to waste it so that there is plenty for everyone.
