We’re writing to provide an update on the M50/A417 Ledbury Road bridge maintenance work.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to complete all work at this location as previously advised. We’ll be returning from 28 July to 13 August 2026, Monday to Friday only between 9pm and 6am. During this time, we’ll also be completing some detailed inspections on the M50 between junction 2 and junction 4.
To complete our work safely we’ll install closures of the M50 between junction 2 and junction 4, the eastbound carriageway will be closed from 28 July to 5 August, and the westbound carriageway will be closed from 6 August to 13 August. During closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place as follows:
M50 junction 4 to junction 2 eastbound diversion

M50 junction 2 to junction 4 southbound diversion
Where it is safe to do so, access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained in emergency situations.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
Please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
