Re: M50 junction 4 to junction 3 maintenance work
We are writing to inform you of some upcoming maintenance work along the M50 eastbound, between junction 4 and junction 3. This work will be carried out on our behalf by our contractor, Kier.
What we’re doing and why? What are the benefits?
We’ll be replacing sections of the safety barrier, alternatively known as the ‘vehicle restraint system’. We’ll also be installing new boundary fencing and we may need to carry out vegetation clearance at certain locations. The completed work will provide a safer road for all road users.
When will this work take place?
Our work will start on Monday 23 May 2022 and we expect to finish at the beginning of July 2022.
We’ll work Monday to Friday.
To complete our work safely, we’ll install a combination of full carriageway closures, lane closures, including the hard shoulder, and 50mph speed limits. Our work will also include a combination of day time and night time working. The benefit of working throughout the day gives added safety to both the road user and workforce.
To install and remove our traffic management safely, the M50 will be closed as follows;
Tuesday 24 June 2022, 8pm to 4am – Full closure of the M50 eastbound from junction 4 to junction 2.
Monday 4 July 2022, 9pm to 6am – Full closure of the M50 eastbound from junction 4 to junction 2.
