BAcRG Update notes 27th November 2018

BAcRG Update 27/11/18:

  • The Church Commissioners approved the proposed Disposal Scheme at their meeting in October. Communications have now been issued to all that made representations and more details can be found on the Church Commissioners website
  • Work on site continues with good progress being made despite some poor weather recently. The Nave roof has now been completely removed and a detailed repair and replacement programme is underway
  • The Daily Bread recently issued an Expression of Interest for a baker partner. BAcRG will now invite those showing an interest for further discussions. From this the Business Plan will be reviewed and the detailed specification for the church re-ordering will be drawn up
  • RRA Architects are working on the detailed plans for the bakery and it is expected that discussions with the Planning Authority will commence in the new year. A community engagement and consultation programme will run in tandem to ensure everyone is kept informed and involved
  • BAcRG, the Diocese and the PCC are in discussion regarding use of the car park and a management and maintenance plan for the churchyard. Once these discussions are complete there will be further work undertaken on the lease between the Diocese and BAcRG for the building
  • Work on the Heritage Activity Plan is underway – children from the local nursery and the primary school will be getting involved and learning more about the history of the church and the building. Anyone with local knowledge and interest is encouraged to get involved to share their stories
  • A heritage talk has been arranged for Thursday 31st January at St Mary’s Church in Ross – all welcome
